The presence of any product on the market simply obliges it, after a certain time, to acquire myths, rumors and legends, as well as stereotypical judgments. For example, for many foreigners it seems natural that bears walk the streets in Russia, but we ourselves believe in the emotionality of Italians, the love of French women and the punctuality of the Germans.
It's hard for us to imagine that this is not at all the case, having parted with the usual myths. The same fate befell everyone's familiar office partitions that divide the premises into functional zones.
Usually partitions are used to redevelop the premises and create separate spaces on one single territory. Partitions usually consist of an aluminum frame to which slabs of various materials are attached.
Unfortunately, most of the information about such structures is incorrect, so let's try to figure out the main myths about partitions.
Partitions can be of two colors - white and gray. Indeed, these two colors are standard for the office, but the color of the partitions is by no means limited to this set. This seems to be because customers choose neutral colors for their premises. In fact, using vinyl coverings, it is possible to paint walls in more than 250 colors. At the same time, vinyl is not only beautiful, but also reliable. Its important qualities are high performance in the field of operation, high moisture resistance. That is, such a wall can be washed fearlessly without fear of its strength. And the partition profile itself can be painted in any color that matches the overall color scheme of the room. The designers have found an interesting solution - to use blinds in glass partitions made of various materials and different directions. And here it is possible to apply different color shades. Thus, nothing prevents the office from being colored with colored partitions, creating a warm atmosphere, a spirit of creativity and so on.
Partitions are unreliable structures. Light partitions against the background of heavy walls immediately look fragile and unstable. Of course, it is wrong to compare the strength of a concrete wall and a partition, because their purpose and structure are different. Partitions successfully cope not only with their main functional task - the delimitation of space, but also other tasks. Even despite the fact that these structures are lightweight (especially if they are made of aluminum) and relatively thin, it is quite possible to attach attachments to them, since the partitions have a high resistance to cantilever loads. So do not be afraid to attach shelves, wall cabinets and other accessories to them.
Sounds calmly penetrate through the partitions. This myth about poor insulation of structures, again, stems from their visible subtlety and fragility, although in fact, in terms of noise absorption, partitions are comparable to an ordinary brick wall, which is 2 times thicker! Here are the building codes for sound insulation, which are measured in decibels (dB). The sound insulation of a brick wall 15 cm thick (half a brick) is 47 dB, if it is an ordinary brickwork 28 cm thick - 54 dB. An ordinary partition of 9 cm has this indicator equal to 40 dB, but if it is made up of two plasterboard sheets and filled with mineral wool inside, the indicator will grow to 53 dB. No one bothers to develop a partition structure with a large alternation of soundproofing and drywall for maximum sound insulation. And glass partitions also effectively protect from noise - the indicator of a single glass is 38 dB, and that of a double glass is 42 dB.
The partitions have rather limited installation options. For some reason, many believe that partitions are mounted only at an angle of 90 degrees, and the structures that they form, respectively, are either square or rectangular. This is not the case, because according to the modular principle, the partitions can be docked in any combination at various angles. This principle itself. As its name suggests, it offers to use ready-made parts and join them in numerous variations. And for the implementation of different planning solutions, there are specially designed rotary elements, which allow the modules to be positioned at different angles. For "filling" you can use T-shaped joints or rounded blind modules, glass sections. The modularity of partitions allows not only creating structures with sharp corners, but also significantly playing up the interior - for example, building semicircular walls.
Because of the partitions, all communications are visible for show. The fact is that a negligent owner will always have everything sloppy - whether partitions or capital walls are used. In this case, everything is just the opposite, it is with the help of partitions that communications can be hidden, which is another gain over standard walls. The design of modern partitions already includes the ability to create hidden and safe wiring, lay telephone and computer cables. For this, special technological slots for wiring have already been made in the frame racks, they are also in the horizontal jumpers, in the sections the wires will lie between the blank panels. If the workplaces shift, then without dismantling the frame, you can change the places of the panels themselves, along with the corresponding holes, and rearrange the sockets themselves.
"Open space" space is worse than individual rooms. The roots of this myth are also easy to find. The fact is that people are used to working in offices for decades, so it seems that this is the best option. However, now the business dictates new requirements and approaches, as a result of which the idea of "open spaсe office" appeared. Such an office is one large room in which employees are located. Partitions separate one work area from another, so the entire space is efficiently used, and the area can be quickly redistributed depending on new tasks, changes in work characteristics. The idea of "open space" allows to instill in employees the spirit of corporatism, accelerate the exchange of information between them, and denote democracy. With such a construction of the workspace, a person receives the desired privacy, optimal conditions are created for him. And all this is possible thanks to partitions, including glass ones, which have been used recently. Thanks to their transparency, the team creates a sense of cleanliness and clarity in business, and in the team, trust increases between employees. The use of glass also allows the space to be provided with plenty of light, which is beneficial for the employee's physical and mental well-being. Executives using "open spase office" in their offices say that the organization of the business process has improved, labor productivity has increased, the number of "smoke breaks" has decreased, and information exchange has ceased to be interrupted.
Partitions must be fixed to the ceiling and walls. This rule is valid only for stationary partitions, thereby ensuring the required structural rigidity, and the structure becomes a real alternative to capital walls. But there are also mobile partitions that do not need to be attached to anything at all. Thanks to their qualities, they can be quickly placed in already finished rooms. At the same time, mobile partitions are also resistant to placing shelves on them, wiring communications through them. Believe me, this is very convenient, because literally in a matter of hours, you can redevelop the entire room. In today's market, with a wealth of design and decoration tools, there is simply no competitor claiming a serious role in the mobile wall niche.
It is not possible to install partitions for all office premises. Proponents of the myth most often point to executive offices in which the use of unpresentable materials is unacceptable. But this is not so, modern partitions have a very stylish look, they can be used to place any attributes of a representative office. Today it is possible to decorate the metal elements of partitions in gold, silver, bronze and even wood, and with the help of powder enamel, in general, give any shade of color. And the frame itself can be made either deaf or transparent, by the way, finishing with wood-like material is very suitable, which will immediately give the cabinet a respectable appearance. It is easy to integrate anything into the partitions themselves, from certificates, cards, awards, to a plasma TV.
Partitions can only be used in offices. And this is not true, because the lightness and convenience of partitions could not go unnoticed in other areas. Today, in almost any room there are these structures, but they are most common in sales areas. We are talking about solid glass partitions, which not only delimit the space, but also serve as a kind of showcase. Naturally, in such cases, safety glass is used to eliminate the risk of cuts in case of surface damage. Today, technologies are already at such a level that showcases and trade pavilions from these materials are produced very quickly. In Moscow, in one of the shopping complexes, all-glass partitions with a height of 3 meters were erected, while the maximum size of the canvas was 3 * 2 meters, and their total area was 135 square meters. All work was completed in just 5 days. In addition to commerce, these designs are used successfully in restaurants, public places, fitness centers, telecommunications companies and many other places.
